I am a HUGE fan of New Girl! I have loved it from the very first episode!
New Girl is a charming, offbeat comedy about friends, flings and modern relationships. After a bad breakup, free-spirited optimist Jess (Zooey Deschanel) moves in with three bachelors who have plenty of issues of their own. Winston (Lamorne Morris) is a former athlete, Nick (Jake Johnson) is a law school dropout, and Schmidt (Max Greenfield) is a wannabe womanizer in love with…himself. Together with her super-hot BFF Cece (Hannah Simone), this New Girl discovers that hanging out with the guys can be a challenging — and hilarious — adventure!Special Features:
● Commentary on Pilot Episode
● Commentary on Bad in Bed
● Dress Like Jess
● Auditions with Lamorne
● Alternate Jokes
● Commentary on See Ya
● New Girl: Evolution of an Episode
● Deleted Scenes and Extended Scenes
● Gag Reel
● Alternate Jokes
● Sneak Peek: Ben and Kate
I may have already seen all the episodes in the first season but what I absolutely love about TV on DVD are the special features! Special features are the main reason, besides liking the show, that I would even consider buying it on DVD.
I really liked the commentary on the “Pilot Episode” and “See Ya” (which is the season finale). It was interesting to hear the “inside scoop” or more like what they thought about that particular episode. It was fun to hear how they got along even outside of the characters as they talked to each other in the commentary. What I did not like about the option to have the commentary is that it wasn’t clear if the commentary was going to be on or off during the viewing. I thought I was turning off the commentary but I wasn’t. Eventually, the commentary turned off so I could just enjoy the season all over again.
It was really fun to see how an episode would evolve and the way it all panned out.
What I really love about this show is how awkward and dorky Jess can be and I feel like I can relate to that. I really feel like I’m hanging out with a bunch of my friends and just having fun!
