AppGear is the newest augmented reality toy for iPhones, iPads and Androids. Honestly, I wasn't sure what 'augmented reality' meant so I've done a little research. An augmented reality takes a real-life environment and 'augments' or makes it greater by adding something to it. AppGear does just this by offering a free app download on their site along with cool collectible toys for purchase that seamlessly interact with the applicaiton.
While exploring AppGear's site I came across two games that interested me. The first was a zombie game called ZombieBurbz where you purchase the figurines that when placed on your smart phone screen they interact in the game. There are four different Zombie packs available for purchase, each pack with it's own unique storyline and 36 challenges in all.
The second was Foam Fighters where players take to the skies in World War 2 fighter planes. As you can see in the picture below the purchased fighter foam plane connects to your smartphone and the horizon seen above the plane in the game is the same as the foam plane. Also, each plane unlocks a different campaign based on historical battles. As you play the game points are earned which upgrade your fighter plane with different guns and bombs.

AppGear is set to take the AppCessary market by storm with these fun interactive collectible toys and apps. If your child is a gamer I'm sure they'll love what AppGear has to offer.
