If you have a “stocked kitchen” the recipes can be endless.
I have a crush on cooking. Unfortunately my infatuation with cooking begins and ends in the kitchen. What I mean is I love cooking but I dread planning my menus and deciding what to cook for my family. Enter the solution: The Stocked Kitchen cookbook.
In my opinion great cookbooks meet 3 qualifications: ingredient friendly recipes, child-approved food and a large table of contents. Here’s my review of The Stocked Kitchen according to these three qualities:
1) The Stocked Kitchen is a cookbook that doesn’t ask you to purchase expensive ingredients that are used for one meal but rather it standardizes the ingredients in your kitchen by providing one complete and practical grocery list that can be used to make more than 300 recipes.
2) My children are loving these recipes yet many are fancy enough to serve to drop-in dinner guests.
3) 300 recipes! If I’m going to purchase a cookbook I want to get my money’s worth. Let me tell you, this cookbook is loaded with recipes and tips to simplify your menu planning and food prep time.

The recipe I want to highlight is the Peanut Noodles. I love that I can take a simple every-day ingredient like peanut butter and create a delicious sauce to serve with noodles, topping it with fresh and healthy vegetables and dressing it up with grilled chicken if desired. The best part? It tasted great but it was so easy and quick to prepare.
The introduction of the book gives tips regarding the shopping list and avoiding wasted trips to the store. Also included in the back of each cookbook are tear-out copies of the standardized grocery list. Keep your kitchen stocked!
BUY: Purchase a copy of The Stocked Kitchen at Amazon, Borders or Barnes & Noble. You can also purchase the ebook version at these retailers.

I would love to win this and I love that it has a practical shopping list instead of using some random spice that I’ll never touch again.

This sounds like just the kind of cookbook I need…and one I would actually USE. I get frustrated sometimes with recipes that call for ingredients I’ve never heard of, and certainly can’t find in my small town. I don’t particularly like to cook, but I DO like good food (hehe), so I need something straightforward that will allow me to throw a meal together without worrying about taking time to go find that one special ingredient. Sounds great!
Thanks!
